The Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens is a piece of preserved paradise in bustling Boca Raton, and certainly a spot to visit any time you’re nearby. The grounds feature historical gardens, museum complete with rotating exhibits, and Cornell Café with pan-Asian cuisine.
Your best bet is to download the free audio tour for your smartphone so as to not miss a bit of the magic as you stroll through the mile-long path in the garden. Then it’s onto the Yamato-kan Museum for permanent bonsai exhibits and the summer show, Falling Water, Soaring Kites, on display now through August 11. End your visit to the Museum with a quick visit to the koi pond and store, and then celebrate Asian culture in its most delicious form with a meal at Cornell Café (the terrace overlooking the gardens is especially beautiful this time of year).
The Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is $15 for adults. Senior and children’s rates are also available.
